In this tutorial, I will be instructing you how I edit and retouch portraits in Lightroom.

This portrait retouching tutorial is of a image of Caleb Negassa, a good buddy who has served with the Film Fundraising class. This image was shot for our Images Masterclass are living demonstration classes by Sam Shimizu-Jones.
Essential Techniques for Modifying Portraits:
Crop to your wanted size/component. Use 1:1 component for most social media profile pictures.
Deal with white stability
Deal with exposure with fundamental tone sliders
Add or modify distinction with Tone Curve
Add extra design by de-sharpening places all over eyes, mouth, hair, and components of faces with radial filter
Sharpen and brighten eyes with adjustment brush
Whiten tooth with adjustment brush
Clear away blemishes with clone instrument
Brighten sleepy eyes (skin beneath eyes)
Add vignette (optional)
Add grain (optional)
These are my fundamental measures. Of class some portraits really don’t will need all of these edits. Some portraits will need extra. From time to time I modify HSL or break up firming settings – incorporating yellow to highlights and blue to shadows – to give shots extra of a design.
Key Idea: Make Your Eyes Pop
My most important assistance is to make confident eyes are sharp and bright (not too bright). This will make any portrait pop extra!
